Participate in our Survey for Online and Used Apparel Resellers!

Central Minnesota Clothing Resource has been receiving a growing volume of requests to sell our high-volume, unsorted, used clothing and shoes in quantities smaller than a semi trailer, such as for example, by the bale, or pickup load. Currently, we are not set up for this. But we are considering the idea of “micro sales” to online sellers and used apparel retailers! This would entail the opening of a facility in Central Minnesota designed to accommodate resellers who need to pick up smaller quantities, or who would prefer to purchase and then pick through/mine their purchase directly onsite, leaving the left overs.

We have a lot of questions to answer as part of our research, and if you are an online seller or a specialty-clothing retailer, we want to hear from you. Please A) Copy the below questions and then B) click on our email link below. Finally, C) Paste our questions into the body of your email and answer each question to the best of your knowledge. We need your feedback!

Participants who complete this survey will be the first contacted if we proceed to open a wholesale facility of this type. Thank you in advance for your help and please stay tuned!

Survey Questions ——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

  1. (Optional) Provide your name, company name and phone in case we would like to follow up with you.

  2. What type of product would you be interested in purchasing?

Examples: Credential- (Direct from the donor, unsorted, clothing, shoes and accessories at a premium price)

Institutional (Thrift store excess, reviewed and usually unsorted, lower price)

Shoes (Grades 1 &2, unsorted, paired, wearable shoes)

  3. How many pounds would you anticipate purchasing (per visit) and how many visits might you make per month?

  4. Would you prefer baled or unbaled clothing? (Bales come in three different sizes: 350lb, 1000lbs and 1,300lbs.)

  5. How would you transport bulk purchases/bales? By cargo van, box truck, pickup or trailer? Do you have a vehicle with a standard, dock-height floor for loading? If other, please describe your situation?

  6. What would be the maximum price you would be comfortable paying for the unsorted products below (over 500lbs):

Credential Clothing Institutional Clothing Used Shoes

  7. Would volume discounts encourage you to purchase more?

  8. Would the ability to pick clothing or shoes on site interest you?

We are exploring the idea of offering private rooms so you could pick/mine a pre-purchased amount of product and be able to leave the rest. For example, you would pay for a 1,300lb bale, pick through it, load up what you want to keep and leave the unwanted rest for us. There would be no compensation for the product left behind but you would eliminate the headaches of transferring high volumes of clothing/shoes to your facility for picking and the challenge of getting rid of the left overs.
